Ajagara and Hathiwar Tal are backward villages which are fall under Block Uska Bazar in District Siddharthnagar (U.P.). Village are situated in flood prone area which fall under drainage basin of the rivers Rapti, Budhi Rapti and Kura, resulting erosion, water logging, loss of life and building are general phenomenon. 674 families are living in both the villages with total population of 4235 persons. Most of the people are living in the vicious circle of poverty. Average land holding of village Ajagara and Hathiwar Tal is 1.43 and 1.03, respectively. Only one crop in possible during the year which is also under rain-fed condition as negligible facility of irrigation due to the deep ground water. 50 to 60 percent of the person already migrated to other progressive states. For the social uplift these farmers, improvement in agriculture to make farming is economically viable proposition and development of nom-farm sector for generating additional employment, a proposal has been formulated of Rs.28,28,990/- having three years implementation period and intervening period of 10 years. Emphasis on capacity building and technology transfer are to be given for having long lasting effect on the optimum natural resource management, growth of agriculture and rural development.
The improved and sustainable livelihood and food security of the marginal farmers is the goal of the project

Key objectives:
To improve the livelihood condition of 500 marginal farmers/households and ensuring the food security among them through introducing improved agriculture practices.
To bring positive changes in farming practices towards the increase productivity and conservation of natural resources..
To ensure the access of marginal farmers over govt. livelihood programs/ schemes through their mobilization and capacity building.

Livelihood :-
To make farmers empowered & skilled through collectivization & capacity building on different issues (including technical), so they can able to ensure their food security and sustainable livelihood without any discrimination and able to live in society with dignity
